2:00 pm & 6:00 pm
Saturday, June 3
“The dancers will be performing a broad repertoire including all forms of dance: ballet, tap, lyrical and contemporary,” says Miss Lindsay. Dozens of students from ages three on up will be performing everything from “Swing tap dancers,” to “Puttin’ on the Ritz” tappers, to Alice in Wonderland mini ballet along with Gershwin Favorites and the classic ballet excerpts of “Swan Lake” & “Faust”.
Lindsay Kaufmann, instructor says the students have been practicing for several months and are excited about the two June 3 performances (2 p.m. and 6 p.m.).
Miss Lindsay, as she is known to her students, believes that her role as an instructor goes beyond teaching ballet. Her combination of artistic ability and entrepreneurial spirit sets an example to the young dancers that education is the key to a more enriching life. Her brand of "can-do", integrity, grassroots efforts, and all-American enthusiasm has given many young dancers a chance to believe in themselves, instill follow-through and structure in their lives, and love themselves regardless of body size or shape.
